Iván García Izquierdo and David Peterson participated on the “II International Congress on El Cid: “Rodrigo Díaz in his European Context: Is the pen mightier than the sword?”, held at the Forum Evolución in Burgos from September, 30 to October, 2.
In this paper, the authors explored how the Cid epic distorted the historical figure of García Ordoñez because of 12th-century aristocratic rivalries, against a backdrop of shifting borders.
