Iván García Izquierdo is ‘Profesor permanente laboral’ in Medieval History at the University of Burgos, where he earned his PhD in 2015.
His research has focused on social, territorial and institutional analyses of eastern Duero Castile, between the early tenth century and the mid-thriteenth century.
He has participated in various national research projects as well as in knowledge-transfer projects related to documentary studies, heritage valorization and the virtualization of cultural heritage, and has been responsible for several of them.
He is the author of the book Frontera, fuero y concejos. El valle del Riaza en la Edad Media; siglos VIII-XII (La Ergástula, 2019), co-editor of several volumes such as La construcción del espacio diocesano en la Europa medieval: actores, dinámicas y conflictos (Oviedo, Trea, 2023), and La configuración del espacio diocesano: el territorio y sus agentes, published in the journal Espacio, tiempo y forma.
